The Calendar page (page title: Occupancy Calendar) shows a month of occupancy for all your units at a glance. You can see which tent, room or bungalow is booked on which day, and click a booking to open its details. The calendar is a view-only screen: you cannot create or change bookings from it.
Open it from the left menu by clicking Calendar. It is built from the types and units on the Room Types page and the records on the Bookings page.
What is on the screen#
The page has these sections from top to bottom:
- Header: "Occupancy Calendar", and below it your business name followed by "daily occupancy by physical room/unit."
- Three summary cards:
- Viewed Month: The month you are looking at (e.g. "July 2026").
- Today's Occupancy: A figure such as
3 / 12, with25% occupiedbelow it. - Bookings Shown This Month: The number of bookings that fall in this month. "Cancelled bookings are not shown" appears underneath.
- Navigation bar: The month name, a colour legend, and the ← Previous Month / Next Month → buttons.
- Occupancy table: Room types and units in the rows, days of the month in the columns. A "How does it work?" note sits below the table.
- THIS MONTH'S BOOKINGS / Check-in / Check-out Tracking list: Cards for the bookings that fall in the selected month.
If you have no active room types, the table says "No active room types yet." As a first step, define types and units on the Room Types page.
Step by step: Using the calendar#
- Open Calendar from the left menu. It opens on the current month.
- To move to another month, press ← Previous Month or Next Month →. The buttons work between the years 2020 and 2100.
- In the table, find the type and unit in the left column, then read across the days. On a phone or narrow screen the table scrolls sideways; the left column (Room / Unit) stays fixed.
- Hover over a booked cell (with a mouse) to see a tooltip with the guest name and booking number.
- Click a booked cell to open that booking.
- You can reach the same bookings from the list below the table.
How to read the table#
Rows#
The table contains one block for each room type that is Active:
| Row | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Type header (grey background) | The type's name, and underneath 8 units • 4 guests (unit count and capacity). In the day cells it shows how many bookings the type has that day, written as 3/8 (3 out of 8 units). If there are no bookings that day, the cell is empty. |
| Unit row | The unit's number/name (e.g. Tent-1) and its status underneath (Active, Cleaning, Maintenance, Out of service). The day cells show bookings assigned to that unit. |
| Unassigned / Other (amber text) | Shows N physical unit(s) missing underneath. It appears when the type's unit count is higher than the number of defined units (see below). |
Types are sorted alphabetically by name in the calendar. The drag-and-drop order from the Room Types page is not applied here. Only Active types are shown; types that are Inactive or in Maintenance do not appear on the calendar.
Cell colours and meanings#
| Appearance | Meaning |
|---|---|
Dark cell with — in the middle |
No booking in that unit on that day. Hovering shows "Empty". |
| Dark amber (brown-orange) cell with amber text BOOKED | There is at least one booking in that unit on that day. The tooltip shows the guest name and booking number. |
| Thin amber outline on the cell, amber day header | Today. |
3/8 in the grey type header row |
All bookings of that type on that day (assigned to a unit or not). |
The cell text (BOOKED) follows your panel language. Day and month names are always shown in Turkish format.
Days and date logic#
- A booking fills the check-in day but not the check-out day. For example, a booking from 5 to 7 July colours the 5 July and 6 July cells; 7 July looks empty. The guest leaves on the morning of 7 July and another guest can arrive the same day.
- Each header shows the short weekday name and the day number. Hover over it to see the full date.
- The header of today's column is highlighted in amber.
Which bookings are shown?#
The calendar and the list below it show all non-cancelled bookings that overlap the selected month. So bookings that are Pending, Confirmed, Completed and No-show all fill their cells. Bookings that are Cancelled are not shown.
How occupancy is calculated#
The Today's Occupancy card#
The number / number on the Today's Occupancy card is found like this:
- Left number: The number of (non-cancelled) bookings staying today. Only Active types are included; all of them are counted whether or not a unit is assigned.
- Right number: The total number of units in the Active types. The unit's status is ignored; an Out of service unit is included in this total.
- Percentage: Left number / right number, rounded to the nearest whole number and capped at 100%.
Example: if 3 of your 12 tents have guests today, the card reads 3 / 12 and 25% occupied. If 2 of the 12 tents are Out of service, you actually have 10 sellable tents; the card still shows 12 as the denominator.
The 3/8 in a type row#
The same logic day by day: the number of non-cancelled bookings of the type that day / the type's unit count.
Bookings Shown This Month#
The number of non-cancelled bookings that have at least one night in the selected month (bookings that check in before the start of the month or check out after its end are counted too).
What happens when you click a cell or booking#
| What you click | Result |
|---|---|
| A booked cell with a single booking | That booking's detail page opens. |
| A cell with more than one booking | The Bookings list opens. (You see this when several records overlap on the same unit on the same day, for example an old record overlapping a new one.) |
| An empty cell | The page reloads and returns to the current month. If you were looking at another month, you lose that view. |
| A cell in the type header row | It is not a link; it only shows summary information. |
| A booking card in the list below | That booking's detail page opens. |
The bookings list below#
The Check-in / Check-out Tracking list under THIS MONTH'S BOOKINGS shows the selected month's bookings sorted by check-in date. Each card has:
- The booking number (in amber).
- The guest name. If there is no name, it says "Unnamed Guest".
- A line like
Type name • Unit T-3 • 4 guests. If no unit is assigned it says "Unit not assigned"; if the type is unknown it says "Room not specified". - On the right, the date range
05.07.2026 → 07.07.2026and the status: Pending, Confirmed, Completed, No-show.
If there are no bookings in the month, it says "No bookings for this month." Clicking a card opens the booking details.
How it relates to booking assignment#
The calendar's unit rows fill up when a unit is assigned to a booking.
- A booking the guest makes through Mira arrives without a unit assigned (status Pending). It shows up on the calendar in the number in the type header row (
3/8) and in the list below, but it does not appear as a coloured cell in any unit row. - To make it appear in a unit row, go to Bookings > the relevant booking > the Physical unit section. Pick a unit from the dropdown and press Assign Unit. The list shows only units that are Active and available on those dates, with the count next to "Available for these dates". After you assign, that unit's cells fill on the calendar.
- If you press Assign Unit without choosing a unit (No physical unit selected), the assignment is removed.
- If the selected unit overlaps another booking, the assignment is rejected.
- If you change the booking's room type, the unit assignment is reset; you need to assign a unit from the new type again.
See the Bookings page for details.
The "Unassigned / Other" row#
If the unit count in the type header is higher than the units defined under it ("N physical unit(s) missing"), an extra Unassigned / Other row appears. This row shows bookings that are not assigned to any unit. When you add units on the Room Types page, the type's unit count automatically becomes equal to the number of defined units; so normally this row does not appear. To track bookings without a unit, use the 3/8 count in the type header row and the cards that say "Unit not assigned" in the list below.
Out-of-service units#
When you set a unit to Cleaning, Maintenance or Out of service on the Room Types page:
- The unit row stays visible on the calendar; its status is written under its label (e.g. "Out of service"). Its cells are not coloured or locked in any special way; with no booking they still look dark and empty.
- The unit is excluded from Mira's availability calculation; guests are offered one unit fewer.
- Bookings previously assigned to that unit are not deleted or moved to another unit. They appear on the calendar as before. If needed, assign the booking to another unit.
- The unit still counts in the denominator of the Today's Occupancy card.
Statuses are not date-based; there is no separate tool to close specific days. Details: Room Types.
Example: a camp with 12 tents#
Pine Valley Camp has 8 "Safari Tents" (Tent-1 ... Tent-8) and 4 "Mini Tents" (Mini-1 ... Mini-4). Here is how the calendar reads in July:
- Open Calendar and move to July with Next Month →.
- Under the "Safari Tent" type header it says
8 units • 4 guests. If you see5/8in the 10 July cell, there are 5 Safari bookings that day and 3 tents are free. - In the
Tent-3row there are BOOKED cells from 10 to 13 July (10, 11, 12); 13 July is empty, so a new guest can arrive. - Hover over a BOOKED cell to see "Jane Smith • (booking no.)". Click to open the booking detail.
- A new booking taken by Mira is not assigned to any tent yet. It raises the number in the type header but does not appear in the
Tent-xrows. From the booking detail, chooseTent-5with Assign Unit; theTent-5cells then fill on the calendar. - If
Tent-7is put into maintenance, "Maintenance" appears under the row label. Mira now sells 7 Safari tents instead of 8. When maintenance is over, set the unit back to Active. - If today's occupancy on the card is
3 / 12, 3 of your 12 tents have guests today.
Tips and common mistakes#
- The calendar is for viewing: To add, move or cancel bookings, use the Bookings page. The calendar has no filter or search; it only has month navigation.
- Assign units: For the calendar's unit rows to fill up, you need to assign units to pending bookings. Otherwise occupancy only shows in the number in the type header.
- Do not click empty cells: If you are viewing another month, it takes you back to the current month.
- Inactive types are not on the calendar: If you make a type inactive, it disappears from the calendar. Past records are not deleted; it appears again when you reactivate the type.
- The occupancy rate is approximate: The denominator includes out-of-service units; relative to your actual sellable units the real rate is higher.
- Watch the dates: The check-out day looks empty. The cell of a guest who leaves on 7 July ends on 6 July.
